Update from Everest: Climbing for the Peace School - May 24, 2010
Ania Lichota summited Mt. Everest on May 22 along with six fellow climbers. Ania's conquest of the highest mountain in the world, completes her circuit of climbing the highest mountains of each of the seven continents.
The Sarswati Foundation Leadership Team and all of our supporters, are incredibly proud of Ania and her dedication to philanthropy through her love for climbing.
Northfield Fundraiser helps fund Peace School - April 30, 2010 St.Olaf College Alumni, Erin Carson, helped organize a fundraiser for the Sarswati Foundation this Thursday. With a successful turnout, a wonderful line up of musicians, and hot items at the silent auction, the event was a great success and raised a substantial amount of money that will, needless to say, assist the construction of the Sarswati Peace School beginning this Fall. Thank you to all those who participated, volunteered, and donated to this wonderful cause.
Paying It Forward... Building a Peace School in Nepal - April 21, 2010
Building a school in war-torn Nepal is far from many Northfielders’ minds.
While American educators are mired in debate over federal and state guidelines, Adequate Yearly Progress and best practices for delivering education, Nepalese students long for indoor plumbing, electricity and books.
With the help of 22-year-old Subhash Ghimire, a St. Olaf College senior from Nepal, his village now has a library. With a little luck and a lot of hard work, the rest will come.

 Ania Lichota never had a passport growing up in communist Poland. Now an Executive Director of an investment bank in London, she is climbing Mt. Everest (her last of 7 summits) to raise money to support the construction of the Sarswati Peace School in Nepal.
